wpForo 3.0 includes significant database structure changes. Always have a database backup you can restore in case you need to revert to your previous wpForo 2.x installation.
Installation Steps
Follow these steps carefully to install wpForo 3.0 Beta on your test environment
No Preparation Actions
You don't need to deactivate or delete the old wpForo 2.x version. WordPress will detect and replace plugin files with new version. Your database tables with all topics, posts, members, and settings remain intact.
Upload and Install wpForo 3.0 Beta
Go to Plugins › Add New Plugin › Upload Plugin. Choose the downloaded wpForo 3.0 beta ZIP file from your computer and click Install Now. On the next screen click the [Replace current with uploaded]. Wait for WordPress to finish the installation.
wpForo 3.0 Beta is Ready
It'll be automatically activated. wpForo 3.0 will automatically run its migration process, upgrading your database structure and forum settings to the new version. This may take a few moments depending on the size of your forum.
Check Your Forum
Visit your forum page and the wpForo Dashboard in WordPress Admin › wpForo to verify everything is working correctly. Explore the new features, test the AI capabilities in wpForo › AI Features admin page. If you encounter any issues, please report them on the wpForo Community forum.
